Each evening course runs for 3 hours from 6.30 to 9.30 and will be presented by Phil Russell, a qualified RFU Educator and a National League referee, with the support of other members of the Society’s training team. There is no charge for attending the session.

The 3-hour course aims to introduce the participants to the basics of refereeing (decision making, signalling, positioning etc) and to give them the confidence to take up the whistle at their clubs on a Sunday morning. For those who want to continue In a coaching or playing role rather than refereeing, it gives them a better insight into how the game is refereed and how the players can get the best out of a referee.
