Enfield 2s 0- Fullerians 45
Fullerians 2nd team marched on in the Herts Merit League 1 with a second impressive win in a row.
Fullers travelled to Enfield Ignations on the back of a 52-0 win against Cheshunt at home the previous week and on what promised to be the hottest October day on record. Fullers were able to field a strong squad, with the return of Callum Hunt and Stuart Duncan and with the ever young Les Trybus on the bench. The home team came out of the traps well with a series of strong driving mails and good set pieces. Enfield were able to stay camped in the Fullerians 22 for ten long minutes, during which time Callum Hunt took a heavy knock to his ankle, being ably replaced by Matt Davenport. Some good phase play, accurate kicking and strong running saw Fullers eventually break out of their half. Following an excellent line out inside the Enfield 22 the pack crashed over for the first score. Enfield continued to challenge hard in what were exhausting conditions, but ultimately Fullers were simply too well organised and too strong to be stopped on the day. Man of the match Jamie O'Keeffe had a flawless day at the kicking tee and was able to boss the game with some delightful breaks and kicks from hand.
After a highly attritional 80 minutes, with all 18 men who travelled getting a game, Fullers came off the pitch with 6 tries, 45 points and no points conceded for the second game in a row.
