Fullers win tough encounter at Old Grammarians

It was a spectacle of rugby to watch, all the players from 1 to 17 dug deep, played hard and played for each other and I am proud of that result.
- Danny Howard

Fullerians Men's 2's won an epic game against Old Grammarians on Saturday. It was a great game to watch, and an absolute dog fight from start to finish.

The defensive work the lads put in the first 30 min to keep OG out was immense, Nathan May and Rich Allen Williams both stopped OGs scoring trys by getting bodies under the ball and the oppo. Unfortunatley, our lack of discipline let us down along side some back chat, which allowed OGs to eventually score.

It was great to see the return of Danny 'Boom' Howard and Lewis Cannings. Lewis managed to get under the skin of the opposition all game put himself about in the lose.
Boom had a couple of his trade mark 'Booms'.

Later on in the first period, a great call from Josh Hancock to run a DSP to Brandon Fowler, who rana great line to cut OGs open and score.

In the seconded half the game went to uncontested scrums as Boom had run out of gas, but on comes TomWilliams and Rhys Griffiths in to the pack. Both carried well and Rhys hit anything that moved.

A lovely platform was set by the pack to let our backs fly, with two tackle breaks and an offload to Nathan May, who dotted down in the corner.

Josh found his kicking boots, only missing one conversion all game.

Danny Howards said "It was a spectacle of rugby to watch, all the players from 1 to 17 dug deep, played hard and played for each other and I am proud of that result."
